Status switch:

Bypass position routes input directly to output.  Engage position routes the input through the impedance matching circuit and the attenuation controls.
 

Attenuate (dB):

Attenuates the signal in 2dB steps (from -2 to -10) before routing it to the speaker outputs.  The last position selects the low output Variable control.
 

Variable Control:

Continuously variable control adjusts the output power from -12dB down to the LOAD position.  In the LOAD position, the speaker can be unplugged, as it is no longer required.
 

 
Input Jack:

Receives the power output from the guitar amplifier speaker output.
 

Output Jacks:

The two output jacks, SPKR A and SPKR B, are wired in parallel and connect to the speaker(s).
 

Impedance:

Sets the impedance of the Phantom to 4, 8, or 16 ohms to match the amplifier speaker output.
 

Volume:

Controls the volume level of the Line Level output.  The Line Level output signal can be adjusted from zero to consumer level (-10dB), to studio level (+4dB), and beyond for interfacing to mixing boards, effects, recording devices, or slaving to a second amplifier. The Line Level signal tracks the Phantom input and does not follow the attenuated output.  This allows the line level signal to be used when the Phantom is in the silent LOAD position.
 

Line Level Out:

Line Level output signal is available at this unbalanced 1/4" mono jack.
